A pool that gives a busy family more time together

Dean and his family live in Geelong. Two teenage daughters, a full work schedule, and a backyard that was ready for something they’d actually use — every summer, not just occasionally.

When Dean came into our Gordon Avenue showroom, he was clear on what mattered. Enough length for real swimming. A shallow-to-deep floor so everyone from grandparents to the girls’ friends could get in comfortably. And — critically — a pool that wouldn’t turn into another job on top of an already busy week.

We recommended the Compass X-Trainer 8.2 in Pearl Bi-luminite™. It’s a family pool at heart: 8.2 metres of clear swimming corridor, a wide entry bench for lounging, and a floor that runs 1.1 m at the shallow end down to 1.8 m in the deep. The Pearl colour reads as a soft, luminous blue-white that shifts with the light.

The most important call, though, was pairing the pool with Compass’s Vantage in-floor cleaning system. Cleaning nozzles are built into the floor and steps, so debris moves toward the main drain automatically. In Dean’s own words, it’s the best decision he made on the whole build.

Installation was straightforward — the site was accessible, the ground worked in our favour, and the ceramic-core shell went in cleanly. Landscaping wrapped around a generous paved surround with soft planting on the boundary. The result is a pool that already looks like it’s been part of the home for years.
